Raised Pavement Markers (RPM'S) <br />2.E.9 Railroad Crossing Markings (APWA 31.16) <br />Railroad crossing markings shall be installed and maintained in compliance with MUTCD and Oregon Revised <br />Statutes regulating railroad crossings. Traffic Operations works closely with Oregon Public Utility Commission <br />(OPUC) — Railroad Unit which has authority over all crossings within the State. Details of all public crossings <br />are controlled by the OPUC issued Crossing Order. Routine inspections of all crossings are performed by <br />ODOT rail and the City is notified of the results. Any OPUC identified deficiencies are corrected immediately <br />by Traffic Operations. <br />2.F Traffic Signals — Design, Installation, and Maintenance <br />Traffic signals are designed, installed and maintained in compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic <br />1 Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Institute on Transportation Engineers - Traffic Control Devices Handbook. <br />Traffic signals shall only be considered where warranted by the MUTCD and authorized in writing by the <br />Traffic Engineer. <br />Installations shall comply with City Standard Specifications and Drawings. <br />2.F.1 Signal Request Process (APWA 31.20) <br />A traffic signal priority list is maintained and reviewed annually to determine which intersections have satisfied <br />1 Engineering warrants supporting installation of a traffic signal. Specific projects are selected for construction <br />from among those meeting MUTCD warrants, based on the warrants plus an evaluation of funding, scheduling <br />and community benefit criteria. <br />2.F.La Investigation and data analysis <br />1 Page 17 of 38 <br />Last Revised: 2127/08 <br />
