Liquidated damages in the amount of $400.00 per Work day will be assessed for <br />each Work day beyond the Contract Time or the completion date, whichever <br />comes first, that the work is not complete. In addition, liquidated damages in the <br />amount of $400.00 per Work day will be assessed for each violation of the <br />timeframe limitations for construction operations as defined in subsection <br />00180.40, "Limitation of Operations", of these Special Provisions. <br />If weekend or holiday work is approved by the Engineer, work performed on <br />weekends or holidays beyond the Contract Time or the completion date, <br />whichever comes first, will be charged as Work days and assessed liquidated <br />damages. <br />Liquidated damages for each stage will be calculated separately and are <br />additive. <br />00195.13 Asphalt Cement Material Price Escalation/De-Escalation Clause <br />(ADD) The escalation/de-escalation clause for WMAC is in effect for this contract as <br />identified in the Bid Schedule. <br />00220.02 Public Safety and Convenience <br />(ADD) The following bulleted item(s) to the end of this subsection: <br />• Unless otherwise shown on the approved traffic control plans, the Contractor <br />shall maintain a minimum of one lane open in each direction for two way <br />traffic during approved Work hours. Full road width shall be open during non <br />Work periods. <br />When construction requires the closure of a sidewalk or sidewalk ramp, place <br />a Type "W1" "SIDEWALK CLOSED" (OR22-12-533) sign at each point of <br />closure. Mount each sign above the striped panel of a Type II barricade <br />placed across the sidewalk, facing pedestrians approaching the Work.area. <br />Advance warning of sidewalk closure (R9-11 shown in MUTCD) shall be <br />placed at nearest safe crossing to provide an alternate pedestrian route. <br />• In areas where surfacing is altered or removed from crosswalks or sidewalks <br />resurface the areas with asphalt concrete or concrete in accordance to ADA <br />standards each day prior to opening to pedestrian or bicycle traffic. <br />• The contractor shall provide five (5) business days prior notification to Lane <br />Transit District (LTD) Operations office, 541-682-6199 for all activities which <br />will affect their operations. The contractor shall also notify LTD on a daily <br />basis of specific Work activities, location, and schedule. <br />• The contractor shall provide five (5) business days prior notification to <br />Sanipac Dispatch office, (541) 736-3618 for all activities which will affect their <br />operations.
