00220.02 Public Safety and Mobility <br />The following bulleted item(s) to the end of this subsection: <br />• Unless otherwise shown on street specific approved traffic control plans, the <br />Contractor shall maintain a minimum of one lane open in each direction for <br />two way traffic during approved Work hours. Full road width shall be open <br />weekends, and holidays not scheduled for Work. Full road width shall also be <br />open other days and times the Contractor is not working. <br />When construction requires the closure of a sidewalk or sidewalk ramp, place <br />a Type "W1" "SIDEWALK CLOSED" (OR22-12-533) sign at each point of <br />closure. Mount each sign above the striped panel of a Type 11 barricade <br />placed across-the sidewalk, facing pedestrians approaching the Work area. <br />Advance warning of sidewalk closure (R9-11 shown in MUTCD) must be <br />placed at nearest safe crossing to provide an alternate pedestrian route. <br />In addition, in areas where surfacing is altered or removed from multi-use <br />paths, crosswalks, sidewalks and footpaths resurface the areas with asphalt <br />concrete or concrete in accordance to ADA standards each day if the areas <br />are open to pedestrian or bicycle traffic. <br />• The contractor shall provide five (5) business days prior notification to Lane <br />Transit District (LTD) Operations office; 541-741-6199 for all activities which <br />will affect their operations. The contractor shall also notify LTD on a daily <br />basis of specific Work activities, location, and schedule. <br />• The contractor shall provide five (5) business days prior notification to <br />Sanipac Dispatch office, (541) 736-3618 for all activities which will affect their <br />operations. The contractor shall also notify Sanipac on a daily basis of <br />specific Work activities, location, and schedule. <br />• The contractor shall provide five (5) business days prior notification to the <br />U.S. Postal Service (USPS), (541) 341-3653 for all activities which will affect <br />their operations. The contractor shall also notify USPS on a daily basis of <br />specific Work activities, location, and schedule. <br />• One portable changeable message sign (PCMS) shall be installed at each <br />end of the Willamette Street work zone, with the exact location to be <br />approved by the Engineer. PCMS messages shall be provided by the <br />Engineer and programmed by the Contractor. PCMS installation setup shall <br />be in accordance with the latest version of the "Oregon Temporary Traffic <br />Control Handbook". <br />00225.02 , General Requirements <br />(ADD) Request modifications to the operation of traffic-signals in writing to the Engineer <br />(five) 5 business days in advance. <br />Special Specifications - Job #4582 Page 3 <br />
