As part of preparing a Baseline/Reconnaissance Report, Contractor shall conduct: <br />• A Literature Review for the project area. Contractor shall examine the following facilities and <br />documents: the SHPO in Salem, OR; General Land Office maps; Sanborn Fire Insurance <br />Maps; and other records archives for known prehistoric and historical archaeological <br />resources and for project background information, <br />• A Field Reconnaissance (scoping trip), including a reconnaissance-level pedestrian, survey <br />with widely spaced transects (30 meters or greater) or a field visit. The PA Memos are <br />compiled in a notebook at the end of the year and submitted to. SHPO. The PA Memo includes <br />information from scoping trips or reconnaissance surveys, maps, and photos. The Agency <br />Archaeologist will keep the final PA Memo on file to be submitted to SHPO at the end of the <br />year. <br />If a site is located within the API, then the project is automatically, elevated out of the <br />Programmatic Agreement and a technical report and site forms are required to be submitted to <br />SHPO for review and compliance.
