As part of preparing a Baseline/Reconnaissance Report, Contractor shall conduct: <br />• A Literature Review for the project area. Contractor shall examine the following facilities and <br />documents: the SHPO in Salem, OR; General Land Office maps; Sanborn Fire Insurance <br />Maps; and other records archives for known prehistoric and historical archaeological <br />resources and for project background information, <br />• A Field Reconnaissance (scoping trip), including a reconnaissance-level pedestrian, survey <br />with widely spaced transects (30 meters or greater) or a field visit. The field visit will enable <br />the archaeologist to identify areas of high and low probability to determine the appropriate <br />level of survey and/or sub-surface probing for the project area, if needed. <br />Task 2 DIivcrable <br />Contractor shall; <br />Provide a Baseline/Reconnaissance Report to Agency within 15 calendar days from NTP. <br />- -mss Q.3~'Isk 3. Pros;ranuliatic Ag cemenU eniorZlnc4im (PA Irmo) foi-,Ninor Transpoq~tation <br />oject5 l <br />ODOT has a Programmatic Agreement with SHPO that allows Agency to obtain archaeological <br />clearances for minor transportation projects through a memorandum to file. The PA Memos are <br />compiled in a notebook at the end of the year and submitted to. SHPO. The PA Memo includes <br />information from scoping trips or reconnaissance surveys, maps, and photos. The Agency <br />Archaeologist will keep the final PA Memo on file to be submitted to SHPO at the end of the <br />year. <br />If a site is located within the API, then the project is automatically, elevated out of the <br />Programmatic Agreement and a technical report and site forms are required to be submitted to <br />SHPO for review and compliance. This will follow the Phase One Archaeological Survey under <br />Task 3.2. <br />The PA Memo required under this task shall include results of the literature review and scoping <br />trip; a description of the API; a detailed project description, methodology, recommendations for <br />future work, site protection measures or avoidance areas, a summary, maps, and photos. <br />As part of development of the PA Memo, Contractor shall conduct: <br />• A Literature Review for the project area, as identified in Task 2: <br />• A Field Reconnaissance (scoping trip), as identified in Task 2. <br />lleLiverak~le <br />• Contractor shall provide a PA Memo to Agency within 30 calendar days from NTP. <br />Ta Projgj Uy,se(tit <br />Contractor shall establish a file system for electronic and hard copy files of all final documents <br />prepared by Contractor.
