Contractor shall prepare all documents based on standard guidance in the style and format of <br />sample documents provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation and/or Agency <br />(ftp://ftp.odot.state.or.us/techserv/Geo-Environmental/Environmental/) or based on the reporting <br />standards and guidelines provided on the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) <br />website. Contractor is the Professional of Record for the work, which shall be executed by <br />Contractor's qualified archaeologist or other qualified professional. Contractor shall be responsible <br />for determining applicable ODOT/SHPO practices and standards to be used in performing the <br />work. Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary state and/or federal excavation <br />permits, in accordance with ORS 390.235 and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act. <br />Agency will not accept or compensate for unrequested reports or Contractor work that is <br />submitted in other format styles and will return them to Contractor for revision in the correct <br />format at Contractor's expense. <br />Contractor's Qualified Archaeologist shall coordinate with SHPO, as necessary, regarding <br />documents (research) and shall coordinate with Agency Archaeological Staff to make necessary <br />changes to Final documents to satisfy SHPO and Agency requirements. Agency will transmit <br />Final documents to regulators on Agency letterhead. <br />Section 106 of the NHPA must be followed when a transportation-related project involves a <br />federal nexus (i.e., federal land,lederal money, or when federal permits are required). Contractor <br />shall consult with Agency Archeology staff for questions about whether a federal nexus exists. <br />These projects will require an archaeological resources evaluation consisting of pedestrian <br />surveys and/or sub-surface testing. State-funded projects and/or projects involving state/private <br />lands also require an archaeological resources evaluation (pedestrian surveys and/or sub-surface <br />testing) as dictated in ORS 358.653, 358.640, and 358.920. Furthermore, the Agency's policy is to <br />follow the Section 106 process for all transportation projects. <br />ODOT will provide the PA Memo for above ground historical resources. The Contractor is to <br />provide services identified under this scope of work pertaining to below-ground archeological <br />resources. The Contractor shall coordinate with an ODOT contact provided by the Agency <br />prior to submitting the PA Memo. <br />Agency will transmit Final documents to regulators on Agency letterhead. <br />Agency will provide project descriptions, maps and agency contact personnel information to <br />Contractor once the Notice to Proceed (NTP) date has been determined. <br />This SOW is comprised of the following tasks: <br />Task No. <br />Task 1 <br />Headhi- <br />Project Management <br />Task 2 <br />Prepare Scoping, Archaeological Field Survey, Records Search <br />and Baseline/Reconnaissance Report <br />Task 3 <br />Provide Programmatic Agreement Memorandum to Agency <br />Task 4 <br />Project Close-Out <br />Archaeology Scope of Work -GJN 4657 & 4664 <br />
