Permit fees; in the amounts set by the City Manager, shall be charged for all permits.. <br />issued -for work within the public way unless otherwise noted herein_ The amount of the <br />fee shall be sufficient to recover the City's costs related #o processing the permit and <br />inspection activities during and after the work: EC 7.300 <br />2.A.1 Approval and Issuance of Permit <br />Upon completion of review and de#ermination that the proposed work is appropriate, the. <br />City Engineer or designee shall approve the permit application. After approval, and upon <br />receipt of the required fee, deposit, performance .bond, and proof of contractor's aicense <br />and bond, the permit shall be issued. EC 7.295(4) <br />2.A.2 Notification Required by the City <br />~`" <br />The permittee shall .notify the City Utility Inspector at least two (2) business days prior to <br />commencement of work within the public way. 'Business day" means any 24-hour day <br />other than a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday. <br />Placement of the notification #hrough use of the Oregon :Utility. Notification Center will be <br />acceptable if the .notice is for the actual commencement ofi work, not a notification <br />requesting design information, and includes the.proposed work location, type of proposed ; <br />work, starting date, time, and the permittee's contact person's name and phone number. <br />'.Franchised utilities, EWEB, and City-licensed facility operators planning to install a new. <br />.facility, or perform a major facility upgrade within the public way, .greater than 400 linear <br />feet, shall provide notice to the City and all other utilities and license holders who are ' <br />licensed or franchised to provide services within the project area. The purpose of this <br />notification is to encourage collocation of facilities and minimize impacts on the public way - <br />by providing other utilities and license holders an opportunity.to install facilities in a joint ` <br />trench or to coordinate work along the same street segment. Notification timing and <br />format will be determined by the initiating utility or licensee so brig as the notification <br />.purpose and documentation requirements are met. <br />2.B ANNUAL PERMITS FOR MINOR RECURRING ACTIVITIES <br />Franchised utilities, EWEB, and City-licensed .facility operators have the option of <br />requesting an annual "blanket" facilities permit for individual service line installations, <br />minor repairs to existing facilities, routine maintenance #unctions and similar recurring <br />activities. <br />The written request for an annual permit shall be made to the Maintenance Planning.. <br />Manager and shall contain the following information and stipulations: <br />1. ;Agreement that 2-business-day advance notice shall be provided to the City for all <br />work to be performed under the blanket permit (notification. may, be provided <br />Utility & RIW Permif Policy 7 12/09/97, <br />
