The work shall be <br />performed in accordance with City Standards and inspected by the Utility Inspec#or <br />prior to backfill. <br />All "taps" into City sanitary sewer mains shall be performed by the City. <br />When the damaged facility is a sanitary sewer line larger than ten (10) inches in <br />diameter, the Wastewater Collections Crew Supervisor shall. be immediately <br />notified. The Crew Supervisor shall have the option of providing repairs consul-. <br />tation to the permittee responsible for the damage, directing the repair performed <br />by the person(s) responsible for the damage, or having the repair performed by City <br />crews at the expense of the permittee responsible for the damage. The Utility <br />Inspector shall submit a damage and inspection report to the Maintenance Planning <br />Manager who shall review and approve a billing submittal to the permittee <br />responsible for repair costs incurred by the City. <br />Damage to Stormwater System Components - If the damaged facility is a storm <br />sewer line, the repairs shall be performed by a contractor, plumber, utility crew, or <br />others qualified to perform such work. The work shall be performed in accordance. <br />.with City Standards and inspected by the Utility Inspector prior to backfill.. Repairs <br />involving taps to a storm sewer may be performed by qualified contractors or <br />personnel working for the permittee. <br />Catch basins, inlets, culverts, roadside ditches, and drainage channels damaged <br />by the work of the permittee shall be restored to as good a condition as existed .prior <br />to permit work. Catch basins shall be cleaned of material or debris resulting from <br />the work. Ditches and channels shall be restored to original shape with banks left <br />in stable condition. Rock used to restore ditch or channel slopes shall be a <br />minimum 3" and compacted, or as otherwise specified by the Utility Inspector. <br />Damaged culverts shall be repaired and cleaned of construction debris. <br />Damage to Traffic and Street Light Facilities - If a street light, sign, signal wire, <br />detector loop, or related facility is damaged, the Utility Inspector and City <br />Transportation Maintenance (682-5218) shall be immediately notified. It is <br />important to note that if a detector loop is cut, the entire run must be replaced. All <br />repairs to such facilities will be performed by City forces at the permittee's expense, <br />unless otherwise directed by the Utility Inspector. <br />Damage to City Irrigation Facilities - If a City irrigation -ine is damaged, the <br />permittee. shall notify the Utility Inspector who will consult with the City parks <br />maintenance supervisor. The City parks maintenance supervisor shall have the <br />option of providing repairs consultation to the permittee responsible for the damage, <br />directing the repair performed by the person(s) responsible for the damage, or <br />having the repair performed by City crews at the expense ~of the permittee <br />responsible for the damage. <br />Utility & R/W Permit Policy 26 02/09/98 <br />_ _ ,_ <br />__ <br />
