<br />This section of the report illustrates airfares paid by air travelers. Airfares paid by the survey travelers are
<br />~~ not available from MIDT information. However, airfare information is available on a quarterly basis from
<br />_. the U.S. DOT. This information does not relate directly to MIDT survey data and thus cannot be directly
<br />~ correlated to the survey data in this report.
<br />U.S. DOT reported airfares
<br />Table 6.1 shows one-way actual domestic airfares (excluding taxes and passenger facility charges) paid
<br />_ by all air travelers originating and/or destined for Eugene Airport and Portland International Airport for the
<br />{ top 25 domestic survey destinations. Eugene Airport's average fare for all domestic destinations was
<br />-; $168.16. Eugene Airport domestic average fares are $27.92 higher than Portland International Airport.

<br />Eugene Airport average fares in seven of the top 25 catchment area markets are $40.00 or higher than
<br />Portland International Airport. There were no markets in which Eugene Airport average airfares were
<br />_~ cheaper than Portland International Airport. Compared to the 2004 Passenger Demand Analysis, the
<br />domestic average fare disparity between Eugene Airport and Portland International Airport has decreased
<br />by $0.65.
