PARKS PLANNING: <br />Parks Planning provides direction and vision on future land acquisitions, design and <br />development. <br />• Coordinates development of general park plans <br />• Manages public input and provides park information to service groups, citizen organizations <br />and public agencies <br />• Manages park property issues <br />• Develops policies and procedures for park use <br />• Provides design and coordination for park facility renovation <br />• Coordinates private donations and gifts on public land <br />• Solicits grants to assist in park development <br />• 7 FTE are assigned to this work unit <br />URBAN FORESTER: <br />Urban Forester provides direction to the tree planning and maintenance program. <br />• Oversees the street tree planting program and related code <br />• Oversees street tree removal permits and related code <br />• Oversees tree protection plan review for development activities in the right-of-way <br />• Oversees the hazard tree inspection and reporting program <br />• Develops policies for managing trees in the City <br />• Provides support to Division Director for tree related issues <br />• 1 FTE are assigned to this work unit <br />__ <br />Facilities Master Plan -January 2004 <br />III - 6 <br />
