Facility Design Requirements <br />Space requirements for the Office of Federal Public Defender include private offices, open work <br />stations, shared support spaces and equipment, a reception area, deposition and interview rooms, <br />and trial preparation rooms. <br />U. S. Trustee Program <br />The U. S. Trustee Program is a component of the Justice Department that works to ensure the <br />integrity of the bankruptcy system across the nation. The duties of United States Trustees <br />include appointing and supervising private trustees who collect and disburse funds to creditors in <br />bankruptcy cases. Other duties include assuring compliance with the bankruptcy code, <br />monitoring bankruptcy cases for fraud and abuse, and referring criminal matters to U. S. <br />Attorneys for prosecution. The U. S. Trustee Program, Region 18, operates a district office in <br />Eugene to oversee the administration of bankruptcy cases and private trustees. <br />Space requirements include private offices, open work stations, shared support spaces, and a <br />reception area. <br />Shared-Use Facilities <br />The following facilities may be shared among agencies occupying the new courthouse: <br />conference rooms; a food service area with concessions and vending machines; a fitness center; <br />and men's and women's locker rooms with lockers, showers, and toilets. <br />Final EIS 36 New Federal Courthouse <br />
