^ New creek crossing should be put on hold. Instead, fix fitness area, improve
.jogging trail and cut new trail through ash woods. Spend art money last- I
suspect we can find a better idea for this.
^ I don't play organized athletics, so the athletic field improvements don't benefit
me, yet that is % of the current allocation. I don't see the necessity for a bridge
across the Amazon at this location. I'm concerned it will put bikers and joggers in
conflict.
Regarding: Overall Concept Design
1) In general, please rate your support for the ideas presented in the concept
.design (circle one). Scale of 1 -10 with 10 meaning high support and 1
meaning low support.
11 = High Support (8-10)
4 = Medium Support (4-7)
2 = Low Support (1-3)
2 = Didn't respond
2) Do you feel the concept designs meet your needs (circle one)? YES / NO
Why or why not?
12 = Yes
2 = No
5 = Didn't Respond
Why-
^ I'm most concerned with maintaining and enhancing the natural and native
amenities of the park.
^ Nearly all of the design concepts work very well for me and my family members,
and even though I am vision impaired I still feel the entire project compliments
my needs.
^ Good to see overall planning.
^ The concept design provides a balance between community needs and potential
overdevelopment. Partnerships with 4J may provide a solution tothe growing
need for parking.
^ The restroom at the children's play area.
^ I love the park already. Acquiring new additional land will be necessary soon and
I'm looking forward to a larger dog park too,
^ I really like the idea of being able to cross the creek at 26tH
..Why Not-
^ The bridge seems to be placed exactly where the hillside is falling into the creek
and the bridge itself has design elements missing and aesthetically antithetical to
nature- wooden spike. flames that are not classically beautiful not able to stand
the test of time.
^ Don't like bridge design, do something simpler and cleaner. ' No more ballfields,
too many already. No overflow parking, cars stay on street.
^ Bridge not desirable.
^ Emphasize improving what we have.
"Amazon Park 7/26/2004
:Workshop 3 Questionnaire Results Page 2
