Concept Diagram/ Draft Program <br />A spreadsheet titled Amazon Park Draft Program Elements was distributed and explained. The <br />spreadsheet includes a list of the prospective park improvements which have been gathered as <br />a result of the public process to date. Information on estimated costs, timing, and potential <br />funding sources is also listed. The spreadsheet has four project categories which correspond to <br />concept diagrams which provide graphic representation of the proposed improvements. <br />Improvements in each of the 4 categories include: <br />^ General Park Improvements- restroom, benches, trees, drinking fountain, removal of wading <br />pool and fencing, LRAPA improvements, picnic area improvements, Hilyard Center <br />landscaping, acquire additional land, and Adidas trail lighting replacement. <br />^ Access/ Circulation/ Parking- relocate crosswalk light on Hilyard, east/west sidewalk, <br />sidewalk to. Roosevelt Middle School, overflow parking, reroute bike path, pedestrian bridge <br />over creek, access across Amazon Parkway. <br />^ Active Recreation- Dog park amenities, improve athletic fields, Adidas trail improvements, <br />Dog park turf/drainage improvements, play area drainage improvements, play area surface <br />replacement, play area equipment update, fitness course renovation, tennis court <br />backboard, tennis court expansion/ lights, winterize Amazon pool <br />^ Natural-Resources- Ash grove boardwalk, interpretive signage, tennis court lighting, prairie <br />restoration, wetland mitigation site work, native vegetation buffer, creek vegetation <br />enhancements, ash grove vegetation enhancements, ash grove fill removal, viewing area of <br />creek, viewing area of wetland, creek profile/ meander revisions. <br />The estimated costs of all of these improvements, is approximately $3,899,000.. Project funding <br />available from the POS bond measure for active recreation components is $550,000. The <br />spreadsheet identified other sources of funding which may be appropriate for specific projects. <br />Other funding sources identified include stormwater, transportation, Community Development <br />Block Grant funding, and volunteer contributions. <br />A number of community members asked questions regarding the concept diagrams and <br />spreadsheet. The questions and answers as addressed at the workshop are summarized <br />below: <br />Q. Is LTD site PARK parking for dog park? <br />A. Yes, the LTD/parking lot on the west side of the ,park at 29`h is for park users. <br />Q. Is everything on green sheet eligible for POS? <br />A. Everything with a dot in the parks column is eligible for POS funding, although the Bond <br />Measure recommendation identified mainly active. recreation improvements. This excludes <br />LRAPA improvements, transportation improvements, and major creek restoration efforts. <br />Q. How available are outside funds (transportation, stormwater, etc.)? <br />A. The individual divisions have been made aware of the issues. Prioritization within their own <br />program areas needs to occur. <br />Q. Is there enough money for everything? <br />A.
