City-wide claim costs
decreased 44% from FY05 to FY06 and 32% from FY06
to FY07. The high cost of unemployment from FY03-05
was the result of several extensions of benefit periods
allowed by the State of Oregon and US Department of
Labor due to high rates of unemployment across the
country. These benefit extension periods have now
ended.
