The City's property insurance policy includes a $25,000 deductible. Claims under the deductible are paid by the Risk Fund $40 except claims of $1,000 or less which are paid directly by the department that incurs the loss. In FY07, there $~ was a total of $41,847 incurred on seven losses. This is slightly higher than the five year average paid of $34,418. The FY07 losses included damage to the $20 Fire/EMS inflatable water rescue boat that occurred when it hit rocks and flipped over in the river; damage $to to two different fire stations while staff were moving equipment; two LRCS (Hutt Center) lap top computers were stolen; damage to a rental car; and a window at Echo Hollow Pool was broken by a foul ball.
