Brewer Park <br />Phase: Planning <br />Staff has begun site analysis on this small park in central Willakenzie area. The first of a series of public <br />involvement opportunities is anticipated for May 2005. <br />Candlelight Park <br />Phase: Pre-Construction <br />Public involvement and concept design phases of this project have been completed. Staff is preparing <br />construction documents and awaiting permit approval from the Oregon Division of State Lands and the US <br />Army Corps of Engineers for planned relocation and improvement of the drainage channel. Although <br />permitting, scheduling, and status of contractor bids will affect the timeline for initiating the project, <br />construction is scheduled to be completed in 2006. More information: www.ci.eugene.or.us/parks/candlelight. <br />Frank Kinney Park <br />Phase: Construction substantially completed <br />Improvements for this neighborhood park at the south end of the Amazon Parkway include adding basic park <br />amenities such as a small children's playground, walking paths and benches, while preserving approximately <br />95 percent of the park for habitat and natural open space. Most park facilities were constructed during summer <br />and fall 2004, and will continue this spring with the installation of a pedestrian bridge near the north end of the <br />park. Other improvements, including a segment of sidewalk and accessible-surface pathways linking the play <br />area and the bridge, will be completed as part of a Public Works stormwater project that is scheduled to begin <br />in late summer or early fall 2005. More information is available at www.ci.eugene.or.us/PARKS/kinney. <br />Friendly Park <br />Phase: Planning and public involvement <br />The public involvement phase for improvements to this 1.2-acre park began last fall.Two neighborhood <br />meetings were held, and a fmal draft concept plan is being prepared. Proposed park improvements will include <br />a consolidated ADA accessible playground with a new swing, drinking fountain, benches, paths, and addition <br />of native plants. More information is available at www.ci.eugene.or.us/PARKS/friendly. <br />Gilbert Park <br />Phase: Project complete <br />A grand opening celebration was held in June 2004. <br />Irwin Park and Irwin Park Connector <br />Phase: Project complete <br />Lark Park <br />Phase.• Project complete <br />Laurel Hill Park <br />Phase: Project complete <br />Marche Chase Park <br />Phase: Pre-Construction <br />Public involvement and concept design phases of this project have been completed. Staff is now preparing <br />construction documents in anticipation of a June 2005 bid. The concept plan, reflecting neighborhood needs <br />and desires, includes aesthetic and habitat enhancements to the natural area such as new native trees and <br />shrubs, street trees, enhanced paths, sidewalks, an imgated play field, a small playground, central meeting <br />space, benches and tables, trash receptacle, drinking fountain, and park signage.
