i,~' <br />CITY OF EUGENE <br />AIRPORT COMPASSION <br />Appointment and teen of Members <br />A. The Airport Commission consists of seven (7) members nominated by <br />the Mayor and conf firmed by the City Council. The Chairman of the <br />Aviation Committee of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce is an <br />ex-officio and non-voting member of the Airport Commission. His <br />term coincides with his term :as Chairman of the Aviation Committee,. <br />Other ex-officio members may be appointed by the Mayor, however, <br />they shall act in an advisory capacity and may ..not vote. <br />B. The term of office of each member, other than ex-officio members is <br />for four (4) years unless that tenure shall expire by reason of death, <br />resignation, inability to serve or by removal by the Commission or the <br />City Council, except that when Ordinance No. 8725, adopted February 10, <br />1969 became effective two members were appointed for four years, two <br />members for three years, two membhrs for two years and one member for <br />one year. Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission shall be <br />filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointee <br />Appointment of Chairman and Vice-Chairman <br />At the first meeting of the Commission after January 1st of each year <br />the members shall appoint one of their number as Chairman and one as Vice- <br />Chairman who shall Bold office for one year and. until his successor .is <br />appointed. <br />Meetings and Failure to Attend <br />T.he Commission shall hold regular meetings at least once each month. <br />If .a member of the Commission does not attend two (2) consecutive regular <br />monthly meetings, unless excused by the vote of the Commission, his member- <br />ship thereon shall automatically terminate. Special meetings may be called <br />at any time by the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or by three members requesting <br />a special meeting. <br />Removal of Members <br />The members of the Commission may be removed from off ice by a vote of <br />the majority of the members of the City Council. <br />Duties <br />Airport Commission shall: <br />1. Study, <br />development and <br />Layout or Master <br />Regulations <br />consider, and develop long range plans for the ultimate <br />use of Mahlon Sweet Field, giving due regard to any Airport <br />plan adopted by the City of Eugene and to Federal and State <br />-2- <br />
