In an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to maintain City <br /> services at a normal level. If the situation is serious enough that operation of <br /> these services must be modified to respond to the crisis, employees will be <br /> ~ informed as quickly as possible by telephone and/or the news media. <br /> i <br /> ~ 3-219.1 Facility Closure (Revised 09/16/02) <br /> <br /> i <br /> Only the City Manager or Acting. City Manager has the authority to close <br /> down a facility during regular business hours (defined as 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., <br /> ' Monday through Friday). The only exception would be if continued <br /> operation of the facility poses an immediate health or safety risk to the <br /> facility's occupants. In that case, the facility should be evacuated and the <br /> City Manager or Acting City Manager should be notified immediately. <br /> Outside of regular business hours (i.e. before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m., <br /> ~ Monday through Friday or on weekends) an Executive Manager or <br /> Division Manager or AIC may close a facility at their discretion. That <br /> information should be relayed to the Communications Supervisor in the <br /> 911 Center (682-2791), the news media, and all appropriate staff. <br /> 3-219.2 Codinq Hours For Time the Facility is Closed (Revised 10/26/99) <br /> 1 <br /> If a facility is shut down during normal business hours (i.e. after <br /> employees have already arrived at work), employees should code all <br /> hours for the day to regular time including those hours that would have <br /> been worked if the facility had stayed open until the end of their regular <br /> shift. <br /> 3-219.3 Codinq Time When an Employee Has Chosen Not to Come to <br /> Work or When He/She Has Asked to Leave Before the End of Their <br /> Shift <br /> City employees who, in their judgement, are unable to safely come to <br /> work due to hazardous weather conditions may be granted time off and <br /> Human Resource and Risk Services Revised: 09/16/02 <br /> <br />
