When using personal leave hours (vacation, compensatory time, or <br /> floating holidays), part-time employees with a regular work schedule will <br /> code vacation hours according to the scheduled hours to be worked per <br /> day. Part-time employees without a regular work schedule will code <br /> vacation hours based on the standard hours per day designated in the <br /> payroll system. <br /> 19.2 Employees are encouraged to plan and use vacation time when available, <br /> except that an employee reaching maximum accrual shall be given reasonable <br /> notice to schedule vacation time off. If the. City is unable to allow an employee <br /> I' acation time off s/he shall be aid for the vacation time at her/his then current <br /> v p <br /> rate of pay. <br /> i <br /> I~ 19.3 Employees are allowed to accrue up to four hundred (400) hours of vacation <br /> time. Effective July 1, 2002, the. vacation cap will increase to four hundred <br /> sixteen (416) hours. <br /> 19.4 Employees terminating after six (6) months of continuous service with <br /> vacation accruals shall be paid all accrued vacation hours up to four hundred <br /> sixteen (416) hours or two (2) times their current annual accrual rate, <br /> whichever is less, at the employee's pay rate at the time of termination. <br /> 19.5 Employees promoted or transferred shall retain all rights to vacation accrual <br /> and eligibility that they enjoyed prior to their transfer or promotion. <br /> 19.6 Each employee may exercise seniority one time each year in the scheduling of <br /> AFSCME contract - 35 - <br /> <br />
