Selectemp's phone number is 746-6200, FAX is 746-7380 and their address is 1202 Gateway <br /> Loop, Springfield. They are available to take orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. <br /> When you contact Selectemp the contact person will ask you for information about the temporary <br /> job assignment, including: <br /> 1. Job title and job class (both are found in the Temporary Compensation Plan) <br /> 2. Number of employees needed <br /> <br /> 1 3. Hourly pay rate -use the City's Temporary Compensation Plan and first determine the <br /> classification and then pick a rate withing the range for that classification. <br /> 4. Start date/End date and hours and days of shift. <br /> 5. Name of on-site supervisor <br /> 6. Job site address and directions to the job site <br /> 7. Any special information such as dress code, special clothing requirements, or exposure to <br /> hazardous materials or blood borne pathogens. <br /> 8. Skill Requirements and Job Duties -Describe the job duties and all skills required including <br /> any equipment, software, years of experience, typing wpm, etc. Be as specific as possible <br /> to ensure you receive a qualified individual that is a good match for your position. A brief <br /> descriptor of the work such as front desk fill-in, data entry, concrete crew, or custodian, is <br /> helpful. <br /> 9. Division, DVSW, billing address, name and phone number of person placing order. <br /> 10. Whether the work is considered in AFSCME or EPEA units or is Exempt work. <br /> 11. Is a DMV check, drug screen or background check needed? Only certain positions require <br /> these. Selectemp cannot do these checks if they are not required. <br /> Selectemp employees classified as Service/Maintenance must have a drug test before starting <br /> work at the City. Selectemp will provide this service at no charge. Apre-employment physical <br /> is not required for Selectemp employees. Selectemp employees who will be driving City <br /> vehicles must pass a DMV driver's check. Background checks are for specific positions in Fire/ <br /> EMS, Police, Municipal Court or Facilities only. <br /> Cost Comparison <br /> When costs of recruitment, screening, interviewing, PAF processing, workers' compensation and <br /> unemployment liability are added (and PERS if applicable), the agency fee may actually be less <br /> ex ensiv <br /> p e than having the temp on the City payroll. Employees who have qualified for PERS <br /> previously at the City or elsewhere and who are still current members must still be paid PERS <br /> immediately if they are hired on the City payroll. <br /> Mark up <br /> City temp (no PERS) 7.65% (FICA only) <br /> City temp (PERS) 33.1% (PERS + FICA) new 2004 rate <br /> Agency temp -Payroll service 21-26% <br /> Agency temp -Recruitment service 26-30% <br /> Contact Hally McCabe at 682 - 5793 with any questions. <br /> <br />
