Any work schedule change, including <br /> emergency work schedule changes, without the five (5) day notice or the <br /> thirty-six (36) hour notice provided above or without a break of at least <br /> twelve (12) hours between old and new work schedules will result in the <br /> employee(s) affected being paid at the overtime rate for hours worked <br /> outside their old work schedule for the first day of the new work schedule. <br /> i <br /> e. Any non-emergency work schedule change of more than two (2) <br /> hours that requires afull-time employee to work more than six (6) days <br /> ' without at least twenty-four (24) hours off will result in the employee being <br /> j paid overtime for all hours worked until s/he receives the twenty-four (24) <br /> hours off. <br /> <br /> ~ f. Em 1 <br /> p oyees, except those on a ten (10) hour shift, shall be entitled to a <br /> fifteen (15) minute break period near the mid-point of every four (4) hours <br /> of work. Employees shall be entitled to a meal period of at least thirty <br /> (30) minutes if more than five (5) hours of work is scheduled. <br /> g. The City shall make a good faith effort to avoid split work schedules <br /> (work schedules separated by a break of more than one hour). When split <br /> work schedules are required, a two (2) hour minimum will be guaranteed for <br /> the second portion of the work schedule. Compensation for the meal period <br /> shall be in accordance with a licable law and this A Bement. <br /> pP <br /> h. Employees who work a ten (10) hour work schedule will be entitled <br /> to a twenty (20) minute break period near the mid-point of every five (5) <br /> hours of work and a meal eri - <br /> od at or near the mid oint of the work <br /> p p <br /> schedule. <br /> i. Eligibility for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of <br /> eight (8) hours in a day maybe waived if agreed to by an employee and the <br /> employee's supervisor, where the hours are exceeded on one (1) work day <br /> and an equivalent amount of time is being taken off within the same work <br /> week. <br /> 17.4 FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE <br /> The City may establish a flexible work schedule for the work week, such as <br /> four-nine (4-9)-hour days and one-four (1-4)-hour day or four-ten <br /> (4-10)-hour days, but not solely for the purpose of avoiding overtime. The <br /> City agrees to make good faith efforts to accommodate an employee's <br /> request for a flexible work schedule within the context of operational <br /> requirements. <br /> 17.5 EXTRA HOURS <br /> ~n <br /> <br />
