g. EXTRA HOURS: Extra hours are defined as time worked by a <br /> part-time employee beyond the regular. schedule but not beyond eight (8) <br /> per day or forty (40) per work week. <br /> ~~I <br /> h. CONTINUOUS OPERATIONS: Continuous operations are those <br /> operations for which work is regularly scheduled seven (7) days a week, for <br /> twenty (20) to~twenty-four (24) hours per day. <br /> 17.2 OVERTIME COMPENSATION AND OPPORTUNITIES <br /> a. Employees required by the City to work overtime shall receive <br /> overtime <br /> C <br /> payment at one-and-one-half (1-1/2) times their regular base rate of pay <br /> <br /> ~ for all time worked beyond six (6) minutes. In instances where an <br /> individual employee is given less than twenty-four (24) hours notice of <br /> call-in outside her/his normal work schedule, the employee shall <br /> receive overtime compensation for all hours worked outside of her/his <br /> normal work schedule. See Article 17.3.i for the flex-time exception to <br /> daily overtime. <br /> b. Except in instances where a special project is being completed or <br /> special skills are required, every reasonable effort will be made to distribute <br /> overtime equitably among employees in a division and classification in <br /> which overtime occurs. If disagreements arise under this section and <br /> evidence exists indicating an inequity, a reasonable time will be allowed the <br /> City to adjust overtime distribution. <br /> c. In providing compensation for employees who have worked overtime, <br /> the City will grant the employee's preference. in payment of compensatory <br /> time at one-and-one-half (1-1 /2) time or premium pay. Employees may <br /> accumulate up to one hundred twenty (120) hours of compensatory time <br /> except in those work sections where a lower cap is operationally required. <br /> d. In the event that sufficient personnel do not accept the offered <br /> overtime on a volunta basis or in the event of an emer n i i n <br /> e c s tuat o <br /> rY g Y <br /> where time is of the essence in executing the overtime work, the additional <br /> personnel, as are deemed necessary by the City, may be required to work <br /> overtime on an assigned basis. <br /> e. Overtime hours worked shall be authorized in advance by a <br /> supervisor. The working of overtime hours without authorization may <br /> result in discipline. <br /> f. Employees working two (2) or more hours of contiguous overtime <br /> ~Q <br /> <br />
