a. WUKK llAY: The work day is a period of twenty-tour (Z4) <br /> consecutive hours beginning at the employee's regularly-scheduled start <br /> time. Full- time work days are defined as the eight (8) to ten (10) hour <br /> <br /> j period beginning at the employee's regularly scheduled start time. <br /> b. WORK WEEK: The work week is defined as a fixed and re ularl <br /> g Y <br /> recurring period of one hundred sixty-eight (168) hours -seven (7) <br /> consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. The work week for all <br /> bargaining unit employees will normally be from 12:01 a.m. Sunday to <br /> midnight Saturday. The alternate work week for the Wastewater Operations <br /> Section shall be maintained during this Agreement. Once the beginning and <br /> j ending time of an employee's work week is established, however, it remains <br /> fixed regardless of how many hours are worked within the week. The <br /> beginning and ending of the work week maybe changed, provided that the <br /> change is intended to be permanent and is not designed to evade overtime <br /> compensation in accordance with state and federal laws. Full-time <br /> employees work forty (40) hours per week. <br /> i <br /> c. WORK SCHEDULES: Work schedules are the work days, days off, <br /> <br /> i <br /> and hours of work identified in a work week for each individual employee. <br /> <br /> i <br /> d. PART-TIME EMPLOYEES: Part-time employees are those who are <br /> scheduled to work at least half the available hours, but less than all the <br /> available hours, in a pay period or at least twenty (20) hours, but less than <br /> forty (40) hours, per week. <br /> 1) Part-time employees will be designated in the payroll system with a <br /> specific number of regularly scheduled hours per work week. The number <br /> of ac lh r <br /> tua ou s will be reviewed uarterl to ensure that em to ees are <br /> q Y p Y <br /> being accurately designated for benefit purposes. <br /> 2) Part-time employees may work additional hours in a different City job <br /> in either a regular or temporary position. Employees who are working in <br /> two (2) different positions are required to give notice to both supervisors <br /> regarding their employment in a different capacity. <br /> e. OVERTIME: Overtime means time worked beyond eight (8) hours <br /> per day, except as noted below and contiguous with an employee's assigned <br /> work schedule; or those hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours for the <br /> applicable work week. <br /> f. FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE: If employees work a flexible work <br /> schedule (see Article 17.f) where their regular schedule is more than eight <br /> (8) hours a day, overtime will be paid for all hours beyond the regularly <br /> scheduled hours. <br /> <br />
