Additionally, these supervisors are eligible for overtime pay <br /> or compensatory time off at 1.5:1 whenever the supervisor is working side <br /> by side with a work group receiving 1.5:1 pay and the work hours are <br /> outside the supervisor's regular work shift. The regular work shift includes <br /> the "ninth hour" which is the time that supervisors spend in meetings or <br /> briefings and organizing for the work day. <br /> The five (5) day exempt vacation benefit is partial compensation for time <br /> spent planning, organizing or scheduling work activities or other <br /> administrative duties including meeting time. <br /> d) Certain police or fire supervisory classifications are eligible for five (5) <br /> days exempt vacation plus paid overtime at 1.5:1. The overtime benefit is <br /> to be used when the supervisor must be available for team-related duties <br /> such as crime investigations- and responding to emergencies; routine <br /> supervisory duties such as paperwork and preparing for briefings are <br /> accounted for with the exempt vacation benefit. In the event these <br /> supervisors are required to appear in court on a day off, they will receive a <br /> minimum of three (3) hours overtime. <br /> e) Employees who fill managerial positions are eligible for an exempt <br /> vacation benefit of ten (10) days per year. These employees are eligible for paid overtime <br /> or compensatory time accumulation only under the Extraordinary Overtime provisions in <br /> Section 3-324.4 <br /> 3-324.2 Flex Time (Revised 09/16/02) <br /> The flextime benefit is designed to allow Managers to flex an employee's schedule <br /> (go home early or come in late).
