We will express our.objections if we have them. We will make sure
everyone has expressed their objections and that they are fully discussed. After
reasonable discussion, we will agree to move on for the good of the group and
according to the impact of the decision.
- Decisions that don't impact people outside the Committee may be decided by
majority vote (after everyone has a tum to talk or pass). Decisions that do impact
people outside the Committee will need everyone's agreement (100% consensus),.
which means that, though some people may pass when their turn comes to speak,
they will support the decision of the Committee.
- If anyone is absent from the meeting where a decision is made that impacts others,
the Committee will ensure the absentee's comfort with the decision, or table the
decision to the next meeting.
- We will not move ahead with a decision without the Division Managers' support..
- The chair can decide to move a decision to a later meeting to allow time to think or
get more information.
- Once a decision is made, we will all support the Committee's decision, especially to
those not on the Committee.
2
