Respectful Workplace Environment.
Implementation Steering Committee
GOALS - GROUNDRULES -METHODS
As of May 28, 2003
? Goals and Objectives for the Project
Goals Statement: The Committee's goals are to move forward with supporting and
enhancing a respectful workplace environment as outlined in the vision statement. It
hopes to create an environment in which fhe organization has developed the capability
for fair and equal treatment, open communication, and where people feel respected and

.valued. To do this, the committee must provide direction and methods to Roosevelt
workers, keeping in mind the need to see change quickly, and communicating with
everyone about the committee's efforts.
- Move forward on Respectful Assessment -provide direction for Roosevelt workers
by coming up with ideas.
- Support and enhance the Respectful Workplace environment by providing methods
to enhance where we're not fully-functioning.
- Measure the environment in about a year.
- Ongoing attention.
- Develop in the organization, a capability for equal and fair treatment, open
communication, where people feel respected and valued.
- To see the vision statement becoming reality.
- To see noticeable change quickly:
- To communicate about what the committee is doing.
? Ground Rules for the Project
- We will value and ensure a respectful environment at our meetings and model a
respectful work environment after the meetings as individuals in the workplace. We
will treat each other as equals.
- We will all read the Respectful Assessment report.
- We will attend scheduled meetings, if at all possible.
- Best meeting times may be Tuesdays or Wednesdays or Thursday mornings and
scheduled to be completed by 3:00 p.m. The committee may meet every two weeks
for awhile (2 months), and then once a month after that.
- We acknowledge dissenting opinions and opposing points of view by, listening as
people bring up their views and allowing them to finish their thoughts. I(
- When we want to table discussion of certain items, to be discussed at a later time,
we will keep a list called a "parking lot" at each meeting and bring those issues up Q~ ~
again by adding them to the regular agenda. ~ j ~~i~
y~
