All terms, conditions, benefits, and <br /> privileges of employment with the City apply to all employees regardless of race, <br /> sex, sexual orientation, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, marital <br /> status, familial status or source. of income. <br /> 3-112 Americans With Disability Act (New section 10/21/99) <br /> It is the desire and intent of the City of Eugene to comply with the provisions of <br /> the American with Disabilities Act; not only because it is the law, but also <br /> because it is the appropriate direction to pursue consistent with the values of the <br /> organization, and is in the best interest of the citizens of Eugene and the present <br /> and potential employees of the City. <br /> The Human Resource and Risk Services Department- will work directly with hiring <br /> supervisors to assure compliance to the ADA; work with supervisors to ensure <br /> that they are trained on the ADA; work with supervisors when accommodation <br /> needs are requested by employees; and work with applicants who request <br /> accommodation during selection processes. Employees of the City of Eugene <br /> who feel they have a disability that needs accommodation should bring that <br /> request forward to their supervisor. Every City employee holds the responsibility <br /> to create an environment free from harassment, including harassment due to a <br /> disability. <br /> Complaints of violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act may be filed with <br /> the City of Eugene Human Resource and Risk Services Department as well as <br /> the Human Rights Commission (for citizens). Complaints may also be filed with <br /> the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries or the federal Equal Employment <br /> Opportunity Commission.
