Project Review
covers employment across the organization, clearly states the expectation that our
employment opportunities will be available and accessible to any qualified
applicant, regardless of their race, sex, sexual orientation, color, national origin,
age, relation, disability, marital status, marital status or source of income.
Each year, the departments in the organization prepare an affirmative action plan,
which contains an analysis of the current work force, identifies areas where
additional attention is needed, and outlines goals and objectives for the following
year.
The organization also has an active diversity program which is based on a
framework for diversity developed by the leadership of the organization. A diversity
work plan is produced annually, with input and feedback from the community on
how the organization is meeting its stated goals.
All City departments have diversity committees. The Diversity Manger serves as a
liaison to the committees. The city wide Diversity Advisory Council (DAC) is
composed of Chairs of all Diversity Committees (Public Works has two DAC
members), Human Rights and Human Resource Staff, Union Representatives, and
Executive and Division Manager liaisons.
The Public Works Diversi Committee PWDC meets once a month and is made
tY ( )
up of representatives from each division. The goal of the PWDC is to promote a
harassment and discrimination-free work place. We recognize and honor a
diversity of viewpoints, cultures, and life experinces. The Kaleidoscope is a
newsletter published by the PWDC for the employees of Public Works. It is a
reflection of diversity in Public Works, keeps employees informed about what the
PWDC is doing, and lets them know of upcoming cultural events. The
Kaleidoscope is produced quarterly.
Actions fo Comply: '
Evaluator Suggestions: `
Evaluator Requirements:
Evaluator Note:
Project Manager's Signature: Date: ~ Zd !1
Agency Director's Signature: Date: ~~a~--

APWA Self Assessmenf - 4th Edition # 2.19 Page 2 of 2
_
