Coordinates with all Public Works divisions <br /> and other departments on safety issues and programs of mutual interest and <br /> benefit. <br /> I <br /> 15% Performs on-site safety inspections and JLMRC Safety Subcommittee <br /> inspections in coordination with OSHA inspectors. Acts as management <br /> representative during OSHA inspections. Enforces immediate correction of <br /> unsafe practices or operations when observed. Re orts <br /> otential haza <br /> rds <br /> P <br /> P , <br /> safety violations, and unsafe working conditions to the responsible supervisor. <br /> Provides follow-up reports to the responsible Section Manager to ensure all <br /> infractions are corrected in an appropriate and timely manner. Acts as City <br /> . representative during formal hearings pertaining to OSHA regulations and <br /> • violations. Maintains OSHA log(s) for changes and updates. Analyzes trends <br /> and data and provides Section Managers with crew related safety statistics for <br /> the .purpose of their review and use when preparin su ervisor erformance <br /> 9 P P <br /> evaluations. May also provide other safe related in ut for inclusio ' <br /> ni <br /> tY p nto <br /> erformance evaluations for c e <br /> P r w memb <br /> ers. <br /> 15% .Develops and coordinates divisional and job specific safety training. Conducts <br /> Divisional monthly Safety Committee Meetings and coordinates or conducts <br /> certified training such as First Aid, CPR, traffic control, bloodborne pathogen, <br /> trenching and shoring,~and confned space classes as required by safety policies <br /> and regulations. Coordinates documentation with HRRS and office staff to <br /> insure individual safety training requirements have been properly met by all <br /> divisional employees. Assists Office Manager with updating and stocking the <br /> Emergency Command Center (ECC) so it's always readily available for <br /> emergency use. May act as the Safety Officer for the Incident Commander if the <br /> Incident Command System (ICS) is activated during a disaster or storm event. <br /> May be required in an ICS situation to coordinate closely with the Public <br /> :Information Officer (PIO) and to coordinate or assist with providing "critical <br /> incident stress" counseling. <br /> 15% Manages and directs special projects and programs of a complex nature as <br /> assigned by Maintenance or Division Manager. Such assignments may <br /> involve research, analysis, recommendations, and written reports and <br /> presentations in regards to employee health and safety, building security <br /> - and energy conservation, and facility remodel and repairs.
