If applicable., describe the research methods and analytical tools (i.e., <br /> resources, computer systems) you use to perform your job and how you use <br /> ,them. <br /> Position requires extensive research of safety issues through multiple state and <br /> governmental agencies such as ORIOSHA, DMV, MSDS research, etc. Employee <br /> must contact staff from other agencies or suppliers. Employee. needs.to be <br /> familiar with researching the Internet to gather information on a multitude of <br /> safety related topics. Employee will also develop spreadsheets to analyze <br /> employee work safety records or accidents of a similar nature. Analyzing the <br /> information will determine where safety gaps may be occurring and provide. <br /> methodolo for takin corrective actions. <br /> 9Y <br /> 9 <br /> 5. Recommendations and Decision Making: <br /> a. Describe your role in making recommendations and decisions. Give <br /> examples and specify what is decided independently and what is part of a group <br /> decision. <br /> <br /> j <br /> While this position operates under general direction of the Maintenance Manager, <br /> employee must work independently to perform job duties. While most issues <br /> requiring decisions wiN be made while consulting with the Maintenance Manager <br /> or with other managers within PWM or POS, employee is given the authority to <br /> make most work related decisions on an independent basis. For example, <br /> employee will make numerous safety related purchases after gathering input <br /> from employees as to their needs, ultimate decision of purchase type lies with <br /> the position. When working with contractors, employee has the authority to <br /> change order without consultation. If coordinating a project such as PWM's <br /> involvement with the Eugene Celebration, employee may increase or decrease. <br /> city staff involvement without seeking approval from other supervisors or <br /> managers. Employee within this role routinely makes recommendations to other ` <br /> supervisory or managerial staff. <br /> b. Provide examples showing the impact of your recommendations and <br /> decisions on your department, division, and/or the /city including the <br /> consequences of errors (i.e., loss of time, property, money, release of <br /> confidential information, etc.) . <br /> Consequence of error in judgement exercised by this position could result in employee <br /> grievances, employee injury, property and/or physical damage, or OSHA fines. Safety <br /> procedures improperly developed and failure to appropriately apply policies and <br /> regulations can create hazards to staff and the public. <br /> This position has a high potential for consequences of error due to release of <br /> confidential information. Employee will routinely work with programs, files, and <br /> employees in which confidentiality is required.
