Ability to obtain 24 hour Hazardous Material Technician Certification. <br /> Ability to obtain the necessary training to instruct and certify staff for providing <br /> traffic control. <br /> 4. Analysis and Problem Solving: <br /> a. Describe the types of analysis and problem solving techniques regularly <br /> required in your job. Include how specific knowledge, skills, and abilities are <br /> aPPlied. <br /> This position will require reviewing and analyzing work related accidents. Employee will <br /> determine cause and, potential solution(s) for the. accident. Employee will recommend <br /> to supervisors whether the accident could have been prevented and may be <br /> recommending a disciplinary action be taken if neglect was involved or if the employee <br /> was not wearing proper PPE. Employee will need to determine appropriate safety <br /> training to ensure similar accidents do not occur in the future. May be involved in <br /> employee conflict resolution and interaction with AFSCME shop stewards and <br /> executive board members. <br /> Through work site inspections, employee may find a safety violation that requires <br /> immediate corrective action. Employee. will need to diplomatically assure corrections <br /> are made in a manner that the offen in em to ee crew su erviso <br /> ~ rand other <br /> g P Y P , <br /> maintena c <br /> n e workers understand and accept. <br /> OSHA infractions may require extensive research and analysis to correct or reach an . <br /> effective solution for the violations. <br /> b. Describe the out come of your analysis (i.e., format, contents, results) and <br /> who receiv <br /> es the results of our anal sis. <br /> Y Y , <br /> Employee will work extensively with all PWM and POS supervisory and management <br /> staff and related staff in HRRS in developing recommendations for safety related <br /> ro ra <br /> p g ms and determining how proposed changes will affect productivity, policy <br /> com liance and w <br /> ork erformed in other areas of the ci <br /> P or anization. E <br /> . P ty g mployee will <br /> chair the Monthly Group 3 safety committee meetings and report findings of the <br /> . committee back to all PWM and POS staff. This group is responsible for developing, <br /> reviewing and implementing changes in work procedures designed to promote <br /> employee safety. The Group 3 Safety Committee also reviews all accidents that may <br /> occur within PWM and POS.
