site" materials prior to use on the site in order to prevent introduction ofnon-native weeds. <br />Contractor shall submit an access plan for the work prior to the pre-project meeting. <br />~e~ Hours of operation. On-site work hours shall be Monday through Friday between?' <br />a.m. and 5 p.m., unless otherwise approved by the City. <br />~~ Planting Personnel. The Contractor shall provide sufficient planting personnel to <br />accomplish the work in a timely manner and to meet the planting time limits outlined in <br />this section. The Contractor shall provide an on-site working supervisor fluent in English <br />to be physically presentwheneverplanting work is being performed. This individual shall <br />be responsible for the overall coordination and management of this contract and shall~act <br />as central point of contact with the City. The Contractor's supervisor shall check-in and <br />check-out with City's contract manager during each day that planting work is performed. <br />Revise} 0~ 040.04 -Coordination <br />~a~ Submittals - Furnish a list of nursery sources for all specified plants within 30 calendar <br />days of award of this Gontract. Document, by this list, that all specified plant material has <br />been procured and will be available for use on the Project. Any material not conforming to <br />these specifications may be rejected by the City. Any rejected materials shall be removed <br />form the work site by the end of each working day. <br />Revise} 0~ 040. ~ 2 • Product Delivery, Storage and Handling <br />Protect plants at all times. during handling, shipping, storage and planting against such <br />detrimental effects as windburn, extreme weather conditions and drying of roots, root balls <br />and foliage. <br />Bare root trees and shrubs shall be planted within 2 to 3 days of pick up ar delivery from <br />the nursery. During planting bare root plants shall be transported in tree bags such that <br />the root mass stays moist at all times. <br />Any plant materials remaining unplanted at the close of a work day shall be removed from <br />the site and stared in such a way as to minimize stress to the plants. [n particular bare <br />root plants and cuttings must be kept cool and moist so that they do not dry out. The <br />Contractor bears responsibility for plant materials that are stolen, lost, or damaged while <br />in their possession until planting has been completed and the project has been accepted <br />by the City. <br />~~Revise} 0040.19 -Plants <br />~a~ Quality -Furnish plant materials conforming to the following: <br />1 <br />~~~ General -All plant material shall be from southern Willamette Valley genetic stock <br />unless otherwise approved by the City. The plant species, type, size, and total number to <br />be planted at the site are described in Table ~ . <br />Plants shall be healthy, first-class representatives of their species or variety, free from <br />disease and insect pests, with top growth that is well developed and free of major <br />structural defects, disfiguring knots, ,sun scalds, bark abrasions, wind or frost injury or any <br />other objectionable features. All deciduous trees and shrubs shall be dormant at the time <br />of planting. <br />The root system on all plants shall be free of injury from biotic insects, pathogens, etc.} <br />and abiotic agents herbicide toxicity, salt injury, excess irrigation, etc.}. Root distribution <br />shall be uniform thraughaut the root system, soil mix or growth medium and growth shall <br />be typical for the species and cultivar. Trees in a bare root condition are not to exceed ~" <br />in caliper. Roots shall not be allowed to dry out and must be kept moist at all times, Roots <br />
