SPECIAL PR~VISI4NS <br />DELTA PDNDS RIPARIAN PLANTING <br />JOB #4572 <br />Add} 00180.50~h} Contract Time -Complete all plantin Work to be done underthe Contract, <br />g <br />except establishment, not later than March 1, 2009.. Establishment work shall be <br />completed as specified in this section. Any plant replacement work necessary at the <br />completion of Establishment shall be completed by December 15, Zo1o. <br />Add} 00180.85~b} Liquidated Damages - No Liquidated damages are specified for this contract. <br />Revise} 01040.00 -~ Scope <br />This work consists of planting and associated work including labor, material, equipment, <br />transportation, storage, and proper planting and establishment of the plant materials by <br />approved methods, as hereinafter specified. <br />All materials shall be planted between November 15, 2008 and March 1, 2009. The <br />Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining the plants until September 30, 2014 with a <br />percent survival of So°/~ or greater. The Contractor must also water plants to insure high <br />survival between the months of July to September of 2009 and 2010. Weed control shall <br />target Armenian blackberry ~Rubus armen~acus}, Scotch broom ~Cy~rsus scopar~us},false <br />brome ~Brach~pod~um sylvaticum}, and meadow knapweed ~Cerrfaurea pra~ens~s} <br />Revise} 01040.01- Contractor's Qualifiicatians <br />~a~ Contractor qualifications. All planting, staking, and vegetation establishment work <br />shall be conducted by a licensed landscape contractor as required by state law. The <br />Contractor shall have successfully completed at least three documented contractual jobs <br />of $30,000 or more each, perfiorming riparian restoration work that was similar in scope to <br />this project. Documentation of Contractor qualifications shall include contact names, <br />phone numbers and addresses of companies or agencies worked for, type of project, and <br />number, size and species of plants installed. This documentation shall be submitted with <br />bid documents. The City reserves the right to contact companies or agencies and verify <br />information provided. <br />fib} Field Supervisor qua[if cations. Contractor shall demonstrate that its field supervisor <br />has a minimum ofthree years of experience installing native plant material in natural area <br />or restoration projects. Documentation of experience and qualifications shall include name <br />and contact information of companies or agencies worked for, type of project, and number, <br />size and species of plants installed. This documentation shall be submitted with bid <br />documents. The Contractor shall provide an on-site working supervisor filuent in English to <br />be physically present whenever planting work is being performed. The City reserves the <br />right to contact companies or agencies and verify information provided. <br />Revise} 01040.03 -General <br />~b~ V~eather Conditions -Planting of all types of plant materials may not be undertaken <br />during extreme weather conditions, as determined by the City. Examples include when <br />ambient temperatures are below 35 degrees Fahrenheit, wind speed is excessive, or <br />heavy prolonged rains have caused flooding orsuper-saturated soils. <br />Add} 01040.03 General <br />~d~ on-site vehicle restrictions. Vehicular-access--shall be limited to paved or graveled <br />surfaces within the site upon approval by the City. Access to the rest of the site shall be <br />on foot. Tools and materials maybe carried in by wheeled carts or as approved by the <br />City's contract manager. All tools, including wheels, shall be cleaned thoroughly of all "off- <br />
