Vision; Values, and Strategic Goals 2008-2012 <br />2. Develop an inventory of all existing trails and trail related facilities, including <br />condition and expected lifecycle, by 2011. (NOTE: this product relates to Goal <br />1, Action 1.1). <br />3. Develop and document maintenance standards for trails and trail related facilities <br />by 2011. (NOTE: this product relates to Goal 1, Action 1.1). <br />Measures: <br />1. Add trailhead kiosks and trail support facilities at seven sites on the Ridgeline <br />Trail by July 2008. <br />2. Install new trail signage and mile markers along the Ruth Bascom Riverbank trail <br />system by July 2008. <br />3. Install new trail signage and Kiosks at Alton Baker Park by July 2008. <br />4. Develop trail alignment plan for the top of Spencer Butte by December, 2009. <br />5. Beginning in May 2008, reconstruct an average of 2,000 feet of soft-surface <br />running trail each year until the entire system is brought up to current standards. <br />6. Conduct hazard inspection on all trails each year. <br />7. Beginning in 2009, a minimum of SOO linear feet of trail per year on the Ridgeline <br />Trail will be reconstructed. <br />8. Beginning in 2009, three miles of the Ridgeline Trail each year will be resurfaced <br />(note: resurfacing is a preventative maintenance activity that extends life of trail <br />so that it does not need to be reconstructed). This equates to a five year re- <br />surfacing cycle. <br />9. In FY2010, develop and implement a trail coordinator position. <br />10. In 2010, install new trail signage and Kiosks at Skinner Butte Park. <br />11. In 2011, plan trail alignment for Wild Iris Ridge. Identify needed permits and <br />identify potential funding sources (e.g., grants). <br />Action 3.3: Evaluate and implement potential connections from neighborhoods and community <br />destinations to Parks and,Open Space lands. Such connections can occur by improving road <br />crossings for pedestrians; creating safe walking and biking routes through sidewalk infill and on- <br />street bike lanes; acquiring property to create pedestrian connections in areas of poor street <br />connectivity; and coordinating with LTD to improve bus access to POS lands. <br />Products: <br />1. Do analysis and mapping work to evaluate existing barriers to Parks and Open <br />Space lands.
