Vision, Values, and Strategic Goals 2008-2012 <br />Products: <br />1. Each Eugene Outdoors issue will highlight a current or emerging issue affecting <br />POS. <br />Measures: <br />1. A minimum of 6 council newsletter submissions each year that highlight a current <br />or emerging issue affecting POS. <br />2. A minimum of 4 media pitches each year that highlight a current or emerging <br />issue affecting POS. <br />Action 2.3: Increase the community's involvement in the work of POS, and nurture an active <br />and informed constituency. <br />Measures: <br />1. Through web based surveys, traditional community workshops, and other public <br />involvement tools increase the number of individuals who provide feedback for <br />individual park planning processes by 50 percent by 2008. <br />2. Increase the number of individual POS donors by 25 percent by 2012. <br />3. Increase the number of volunteer program projects by 25 percent by 2012. <br />4. Increase the number of community volunteer partners such as Lions and Rotary <br />Clubs by 25 percent by 2012. <br />5. Target recruitment efforts in order to increase individual volunteerism by 25 <br />percent by 2012. <br />Goa13: Promote increased connectivity within and among Parks and Open Space lands <br />and provide linkages to neighborhoods and community destinations. <br />Action 3.1: Continue to implement the Ridgeline vision by acquiring property or easements to <br />complete missing links in the system. <br />Measures: <br />1. By 2012, acquire a minimum of 500 acres of Ridgeline property to complete <br />missing links. <br />2. Garner a minimum of 30% of total acquisition or easement costs from donations <br />and grant funding (e.g. OWEB, Forest Legacy, NAWCA, etc.) by 2012. <br />Action 3.2: Provide additional trails and trail support facilities~ to promote connectivity. <br />Upgrade existing trails and facilities as needed. Add staff resources to facilitate trail <br />maintenance and expansion. <br />Products: <br />1.
