Consider the following: ~ <br />o Improving access to existing parks <br />o Renovating, upgrading, or otherwise improving the value of the park experience at <br />existing parks. <br />o Developing partnerships to provide park experiences on non-City lands <br />Products: <br />1. Analysis and mapping work to evaluate existing barriers to Parks and Open Space <br />lands. <br />2. A method for evaluating and prioritizing options for providing improved level of <br />service. <br />Measures: <br />1. Have a decision-making tool in place by 2010. <br />Goa12: Provide public information and outreach in order to raise local and regional <br />awareness of the City of Eugene's nationally recognized parks and open space system, <br />foster increased community involvement, and deepen residents' understanding of the <br />stewardship role they play in their parks and natural areas. <br />Action 2.1: Utilize public outreach channels to communicate the community's vision for, and <br />the benefits of, Eugene's parks and open spaces; and increase awareness of the breadth of <br />Eugene's parks and open space system and the expertise and dedication behind it. <br />Products: <br />1. A Eugene POS website that reflects the most up to date news and information. <br />Measures: <br />1. Increase positive regional and national news coverage of the Eugene parks and <br />open space system by 25 percent by 2010. <br />2.
