Is loose, broken, or mixed with dirt <br />Shows visually too much or too little asphalt <br />Is defective in any way <br />00745.72 Smoothness Testing Equipment <br />(Replace) This subsection with the following: <br />Furnish all equipment and supplies for determining smoothness. <br />(a) Straightedge -Provide one 12 foot rolling straightedge and one 12 foot beam <br />straight edge. <br />00745.79 Contractor's Warranty <br />(Add) 00745.79 Contractor's Warranty- Furnish a Warranty for Hot-Mix Asphalt Concrete <br />according to 00170.85(b), for a Warranty period of one year. The Warranty period will <br />start at the issuance of the Third Notification. <br />For purposes of the Warranty, the Hot-Mix Asphalt Concrete Work will be deemed to <br />have defects when: <br />Raveling, rutting, corrugation, boils, flushing or bleeding, non-load related cracking, <br />or other defects are present in the Hot-Mix Asphalt Concrete. <br />• Hot-Mix Asphalt Concrete smoothness deviates from 00745.70. <br />Upon the Agency's written notification the Contractor will repair and replace the Hot-Mix <br />Asphalt Concrete Work with defects, ,within 6 months of the Agency's written <br />notification. <br />00745.90 General <br />(Add) The following: <br />No separate payment will be made for asphalt cement used in the HMAC mixture. <br />In order to provide a means to adjust asphalt cement price, if needed, the fraction of the <br />HMAC per ton unit price which is represented by the asphalt cement in mixture shall be <br />designated on the bid schedule. Each HMAC pay item shall have the cost for the <br />fraction of the HMAC per ton unit price represented by the asphalt cement in mixture <br />designated on the bid schedule, beneath the pay item, on the line identified as "Asphalt <br />Cement in HMAC Per Ton of HMAC Complete". The cost submitted by the Contractor <br />for "Asphalt Cement in HMAC Per Ton of HMAC Complete", for each HMAC pay item, <br />will be used to calculate a price adjustment, if needed, per Section 00195 of the Special <br />Provisions. <br />Costs submitted by the Contractor for "Asphalt Cement in HMAC Per Ton Of HMAC <br />Complete", for any HMAC bid item, over thirty (30) dollars per a ton will be considered <br />unbalanced and the bid will be rejected. <br />Special Provisions -Job #4376 Page 14 <br />
