00745.49(b)(3) Moving Average Maximum Density (MAMD) Method <br />(Replace) The table and note at the bottom of the table with the following: <br />Maintenance New Construction <br />Overlays Level 1, Level 2 Level 4 <br />Course of Construction and Level 3 HMAC HMAC <br />First Lift 91.0 92.0 92.0 <br />Single 91.0 92.0 92.0 <br />All Other 92.0 92.0 92.0 <br />If the minimum compaction required for any portion of a lift width, at any station, is lower than <br />the rest of the lift width, the lower compaction requirement will be used for the entire width of <br />the lift. <br />(Delete) The last paragraph of this subsection. <br />00745.60 Correction of Defects <br />(Replace) This subsection with the following: <br />Correct any defects in materials and work, as directed, at the Contractor's expense as <br />follows: <br />(a) Fouled Surfaces -Immediately repair, clean and retack fouled surfaces that would <br />prevent full bond between successive lifts of mixture. <br />(b) Boils, Slicks, and Oversized Material -Immediately replace boils, slicks, and <br />oversized materials with fresh mixture. <br />(c) Segregation -Take immediate corrective measures when segregation or non- <br />uniform surface texture is occurring in the finished mat. If segregation continues to <br />occur, stop production until a plan for providing uniform surface texture is approved by <br />the Engineer. <br />(d) Roller Damage to the Surface -Immediately correct surface damage from rollers <br />with additional fresh mixture or by other means approved by the Engineer. <br />(e) Longitudinal Joints -Take immediate corrective measures when open longitudinal <br />joints are being constructed or when the elevation of the two sides of a longitudinal joint <br />do not match. If problems with the longitudinal joint continue to occur, stop production <br />until a plan for providing tight, equal elevation longitudinal joints is approved by the <br />Engineer. <br />(f) Nonspecification Compaction -Take immediate corrective measures when the <br />specified compaction density is not being achieved. <br />(g) Other Defects -Remove and replace any HMAC that: <br />Special Provisions -Job #4376 Page 13 <br />
