<br />Building Policy Team <br />Purpose: <br />Effective collaboration of building partners <br />Guide design in timely way <br />Provide stewardship for the success and sustainability of the WEEC <br />Transition to structure for 2008 and beyond. <br />T'NT (Ellen Teninty) will participate with Planning Team to develop agendas and to facilitate <br />meetings as requested by the Planning Team. Note: the distillation of Focus Group input into <br />policy proposals for the Building Policy Team does not include T'NT. <br />4J and Bethel Districts Title One Elementary Schools <br />Purpose: <br />Expand the reach of the WEEC to 4J and Bethel Title One Elementary Schools <br />Learn about barriers to access <br />Recommend adjustments to programs to maximize inclusive education <br />T'NT (Judith Castro) will provide translation to Spanish for all necessary field trip communications <br />including permission slip, medical release, and explanatory note. T'NT will make $1,000 available <br />to support transportation cost for field trips from 4J and Bethel Districts' Title One Schools. <br />T'NT (Judith Castro) will confer with Mark Hornsby and WREN staff on adapting the existing <br />questionnaire to make it useful for Title One diversity feedback. Mark will contact schools who <br />have used WEEC program in past 2 years and WREN staff will ask program-using schools to fill <br />out the questionnaire. Judith will make contact with up to ten schools to recruit participation and <br />to get more in depth feedback. T'NT will report what we learn to WREN staff in support of tapping <br />a future funding source to support ongoing access for Title One schools.. <br />Special Meetings <br />Purpose: <br />Reach out to parties who share jurisdiction or proximity with the project <br />Hear and resolve concerns and share information <br />Build support and ongoing collaboration <br />T'NT will help to create the list of those whom the Project should contact. The Planning Team will <br />determine who should attend and how the meeting should be structured. Some may be courtesy <br />informational meetings, while others may entail formal presentation and listening. Examples <br />include businesses that operate in the West Eugene Wetlands, City Councilors, and <br />Neighborhood Associations. T'NT will explore the appropriateness of presenting the public <br />involvement efforts to the Eugene Planning Commission, and assist in making that presentation. <br />CUP Hearing: <br />T'NT will not be involved in the preparation for or delivery at this Hearing. <br />Communication <br />Purpose: <br />Publicize events <br />Get accurate project information to the public <br />T'NT (Julie) will work with WREN staff on publicity to make sure that media ads and updates for <br />newsletters are timely. Additionally, T'NT (Ellen) will work with the Planning Team to <br />conceptualize topics and authors for two Guest Opinion pieces for the Register Guard, timed to <br />compliment the first two public events in June and mid-summer. <br /> <br />
