The Airport Commission consists of seven (7) members nominated by <br /> the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The Chaitman of the <br /> i Aviation Committee of ttre Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce is an <br /> ~ ' ex-officio and non-voting member of the Airport Commission. His <br /> term coincides with his term as Chairman of the Aviation Committee,. <br /> r ' Other ex-officio members may be appointed by the Mayor, however, <br /> they shall act in an advisory capacity and may not vote. <br /> ~ B. The term of office of each member, other than ex-officio members is <br /> } for four (4) years unless that tenure shall expire by reason of death, <br /> resignation, inability to serve or by removal by the Commission or the <br /> City Council, except that when Ordinance No. 8725, adopted February 10, <br /> 5 1969 became effective two members were appointed for four years, two <br /> ~ members for three years, two membrrrs for two years and one member for <br /> one year. Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission shall be <br /> filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointer <br /> Appointment of Chairman and Vice-Chairman <br /> At the first meeting of the Commission after January 1st of each year <br /> the members shall appoint one of their number as Chairman and one as Vice- <br /> Chairman who shall hold office for one year and until his successor is <br /> appointed. <br /> b]eetings and Failure to Attend <br /> The Commission shall hold regular meetings at least once each month. <br /> If a member of the Ccmmission does not attend two (2) consecutive regular <br /> monthly meetings, unless excused by the vote of the Commission, his member- <br /> , ship thereon shall aitomatically terminate. Special meetings may be called <br /> at any time by the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or by three members requesting <br /> a special meeting. <br /> Removal of Members <br /> The members of the Commission may be removed from off ice by a vote of <br /> the majority of the members of the City Council. <br /> Duties <br /> Airport Commission shall: <br /> 1. Study, consider, and develop long range plans for the ultimate <br /> 1 levelopment and use of Mahlon Sweet Field, giving due regard to any Airport <br /> ~ Layout or Master plan adopted by the City of Eugene and to Federal and State <br /> Regulations <br /> -2- <br /> J <br /> I <br /> <br />
