CLEANING FLUIDS: No pe.rsoi~ shal.] use volatile flammable liquids <br /> in the cleaning of aircraft, aircraft engines, propellers, and <br /> appliances unless such cleaning operations are conducted in open <br /> ventilated, fireproofed areas, and equipped with adequate and <br /> readily accessible fire extinguishing apparatus. <br /> ~ 6. PAINTING AND OTiIER PROCESSES: Printing. and "doping" of aircraft <br /> shall be conducted only in designated areas which shall conform to <br /> local laws, underwriters stand<zrds, and field regulations and <br /> shall be conducted only in properly designated, fire proof, and <br /> ventilated rooms or buildings in which all illumination, wiring, <br /> heating, ventilation equipment, switches, outlets, and fixtures <br /> ~ shall be spark proof and vapor proof. <br /> ` 7. FIRE APPARATUS: All tenants and/or leasees of hangars or shop <br /> facilities shall supply and maintain adequate and readily access- <br /> ible fire extinguishers as approved by fire underwriters for the <br /> particular hazard as may be deemed necessary by the Airport Manager. <br /> 8. CABINETS AND CONTAINERS: All cabinets or other containers used <br /> for storing mechanics work clothing, wiping rags, and other materials <br /> of a spontaneous combustible nature shall be constructed of metal <br /> and meet with requirements set forth by the National Board of Fire <br /> s Underwriters. <br /> 9. STORAGE OF FLAMMABLE PRODUCTS: No person shall store or keep greases, <br /> ~~a~_nanol alcohol, alcohol (except for alcoholic beverages for human <br /> consumtion), ethylene glycol, hyraulic fluids, dopes, paints, or any <br /> other flammable substance in any building on the Airport, except in <br /> <br /> -<-.-.~-s: a ventilated fireproof room of six inch concrete block construction <br /> in which an automatic rate of rise temperature controlled, approved <br /> carbon dioxide, or dry chemical overhead fire extinguisher shall have <br /> been installed and in containers which shall be bonded. Withdrawal <br /> of such products shall be by pump only and gravity flow will riot <br /> be permitted. Gasoline shall not be stored on the Airport except in <br /> areas specifically provided. Exception shall Le that materials may <br /> be kept in aircraft in the proper receptacles installed in the air- <br /> craft. Storage of oil will be permissible in sealed containers and <br /> case lots, <br /> 10. ALTERNATE TO ITEM 9: Tenants whose requirements do not warrant full <br /> compliance with Item 9 above may store the same flammables listed <br /> therein in storage cabinets in conformance with NBFU Pamphlet No, 30 <br /> as follows: <br /> "19. Storage cabinets may be used where it is desire to <br /> keep more than ten gallons of varnishes, lacquers or <br /> similar materials inside buildings, no individual con- <br /> tainer td exceed five gallons capacity. Not over fifty <br /> gallons should be stored in any one cabinet. Such cab- <br /> inets shall be o8 construction conforming with or <br /> -12- <br /> <br />
