The ite of any em rgency work will be inspected at the Utility Inspector's first opportunity. <br /> ~e tility Inspect r wilt ensure that the permit process is followed, the work was <br /> act ptably perfo ed, no City facilities damaged, and the site returned to an as good or <br /> belt r condition th n that prior to the work being performed. <br /> 2.F PERMITS OR CITY OWNED-FACILITY <br /> Alth ugh not regal ed by the Eugene Code, Public Works Department policy also requires <br /> a p rmit to be obt fined for work performed within the public way by or for all other City <br /> dep rtments. <br /> R~ airing City de artments to obtain a permit affords the various divisions of Public Works <br /> an pportunity to omment on how these facilities will affect their areas of responsibility <br /> amd operations, a well as ensuring that all City-owned facilities placed within the public <br /> wta have as-con rutted drawings completed and submitted to the Engineering Division <br /> far ecord and ma ping purposes. <br /> 2 PERMITS DURING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br /> Util ty installation r relocation within the public way being performed concurrently with <br /> <br /> ~,,,,,„,,u lit infrastruct re improvement and construction projects shall require a permit prior to <br /> co mencement f utility work. <br /> 2. .7 Ci En i eared and Administered Pro ects <br /> Fo permit work nducted in conjunction with City engineered or administered projects, <br /> t~ Utility Inspec r will verify that a utility right-of-way permit has been issued and that the <br /> Fn ineering Divi ion project manager assigned to the project is supplied copies of a!I <br /> is ed permits a d associated plans. The Utility Inspector will perform inspections and <br /> r7e pond to all to to requests required during contract construction projee#s administered <br /> by the City until uch time as the Engineering Division assigned personnel are on site. <br /> A er Engineerin personnel are on site, they will be responsible for any required utility <br /> in pections and ocates until substantial completion of the project. After substantial <br /> c mpletion, whe assigned Engineering personnel are no longer on site, the Utility <br /> In pector will ag in be responsible. Substantial completion for projects that include street <br /> w rk will be co pletion of the final paving. Substantial completion for projects not <br /> in olving street ork will be determined by the Engineering project manager. <br /> T e Engineerin Division project manager shat! notify the Utility inspector in writing (by <br /> morandum o electronic mail) whenever utility inspection and locate responsibilities for <br /> a project transf r to Engineering personnel {when an Engineering inspector is assigned to <br /> .o -site inspecti n) and when responsibilities transfer back to the Utility lnspector (upon <br /> s bstantial proj ct completion).
