2.E EME GENCY PERMITS <br /> A permit (i.e. fight-of--Way Cut, Public Improvement, Revocable, Temporary Surfacing) is required <br /> for all work ithin the public wa~~. However, when emergency repairs of an existing facility are <br /> necessary, w rk may commence prior to the application for a permit. If this emergency occurs <br /> during the n rural working hours of the Maintenance Division, immediate verbal notice to the <br /> Inspector, Utility Permit and Inspections Supervisor, or Maintenance Planning Manager is required. <br /> In the case here emergency repairs are necessary outside the normal business hours of the <br /> Maintenance ivision, the Eugene Police Department (682-5111) should be notified if the work is <br /> within a stree or alley and will necessitate a lane closure. If a representative of the Public Works <br /> Department i needed, upon request of the permittee, the Eugene Police Department will notify the <br /> "on-call" sup rvisor of the Maintenance Division. For emergency repairs which are likely to impact <br /> street trees, t e Public Works Department must be notified and the Urban Forester consulted to <br /> determine im acts to public trees. <br /> Application f r an emergency pernlit shall be submitted no later than the next working day following <br /> the emergenc repairs. This application must clearly describe the nature of the emergency and the <br /> action the pe ittee has taken to date. <br /> The site of an emergency work 'ill be inspected at the Inspector's first opportunity.
