In this same effort, the Office of Communications will .meet periodically with and <br /> regularly contact administrators/department heads to remain aware of [your <br /> organization's] activities and programs. Appropriate publicity and media <br /> relations can, therefore, be provided. <br /> 6. -The Office of Communications will arrange media interviews with persons in <br /> [your organization] when requested. If staff is contacted directly by the media, <br /> the Director of Communications should be informed as soon as possible before or <br /> after the interview or contact. If the media requests information over the <br /> telephone, it may be given, provided it does not deal with an issue of serious <br /> <br /> ~ concern to [your organization]. In such an instance, the Director of <br /> Communications should be advised of the contact. <br /> 7. Generally; it is the policy of [your organization] not to release stories or <br /> information concerning staff except as directed by the President and as permitted <br /> by law. <br /> The intention of this policy is to encourage and assist in developing quality, accurate and <br /> consistent information with the media. It is the obvious goal of [your organization] to <br /> obtain the maximum visibility for [your organization]. These guidelines are not intended <br /> to infringe an individual's freedom of speech or freedom of the press. . <br /> <br />
