Exec Involvement with
Academy FY07
Overall goals of Exec participation in .the Leadership Academy
0 Create opportunities for participants to get to know the Execs personally
and the Execs to get to know participants personally.
0 Give the Execs opportunities to share their organizational
thoughts/visions/perspectives working towards understanding and
alignment.
0 Create opportunities to hear from the participant group their thoughts on
the organization. This can happen in a unique cross-organizational forum.
Not just problem solving but larger scope discussions.
0 Design Execs participation each year to maximize Exec presence, but
keep participation to a manageable expectation.
0 Exec involvement in supporting the departments in developing longer term
strategies to gain benefit from academy alumni energy and experience.

Some suggestions:
0 For Execs not participating, choose a day to attend and be part of the
group.
0 Join the group for lunch anytime.
0 Identify any "conversations" they would like with this group and work. with
coordinators to incorporate those into a specific day.
0 We have re-designed the day labeled "Public Leadership Day". An
opportunity for high Exec participation.
0 Last day conversation (April), as many Execs participate as possible.
0 Would there be a topic for a lunch time panel/conversation? How to
incorporate?
0 Dialogue with department management team members to identify
strategies to reinforce growth and development of academy participants
and alumni.
