The model of governance encompasses the information and skills every
successful public manager requires. Each Rocky Mountain Program module
contributes to the governance model.
Sessions are highly interactive and include use of a wide variety of training methods,
including case studies, simulations, problem-solving exercises, interactive
discussions, videos, and lectures. Time is set aside for personal reflection, reading,
and writing.
Although most examples and case studies are from state government and local
jurisdictions, the lessons learned are applicable to all levels of government.
Please note that The Centers reserves the right to amend the curriculum in order to
accommodate the most recent and relevant developments in the field.
2002 Curriculum Modules
A Meeting of the Minds:
Provides participants the opportunity to more clearly understand their personal
.thinking styles and the styles of others: The instrument used offers a whole brain
approach to thinking styles, is validated based on genetics and environment, and
allows comparison with the larger population. Challenges assumptions about styles
of thinking that participants make at work and at home.
Ethics:
Through a team teaching approach, participants examine ethics by understanding
their ethical type and how that type translates into their actions and outcomes in the
work place. Challenges participants to explore ethics in the public arena and the
larger democratic society.
Political Leadership and Innovation:
http://www.rmp.cudenver.edu/curriculum.html 4/12/2004
