CITY COUNCIL PRIORITY ISSUE STATUS REPORT <br /> Neighborhood Association Initiative <br /> Contact: Kurt Corey, Executive Director, [Public Works] <br /> Roland Hoskins, Staff Lead, [8421 ] <br /> Reporting period: September -October <br /> The focus of the Neighborhood Association Initiative plan is on creating and sustaining <br /> Strong Neighborhoods, with an emphasis on building partnerships motivated to <br /> collaboratively problem-solve and develop solutions that benefit a broad representation <br /> of the community. <br /> The plan is focused on the following three objectives: <br /> • Enhance effective public engagement activities. <br /> • Support neighborhood involvement by empowering all neighborhood <br /> associations in problem solving. <br /> • Focus service delivery to better meet neighborhood-identified priorities. <br /> The City has a long history of working with the neighborhood associations. The Request For Proposals went out as <br /> planned on September 15t". Staff is giving presentations to Neighborhood <br /> Associations on the grant program and application process. The grant packets <br /> are available on the City's web site and at the PIC, libraries and community <br /> centers. The pre-review deadline is January 15, 2007.
