s i ~ : <br /> December 3, 19 9 <br /> CONTACT: ichard Zucker, Leaf Program Manager, 682-4800 <br /> FROM :Pub is Information Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMMED TE RELEASE <br /> SECOND ROUND OF LEAF PICKUPS TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK <br /> The sec nd and final round of leaf pickups in Eugene is scheduled to begin next week. Due to <br /> high volumes o leaves in north Eugene, the first round of collections is taking slightly longer than <br /> anticipated. Pu lic Works crews expect to finish up in north Eugene early next week and be back on <br /> schedule by the end of the week. The schedule calls for all leaves to be picked up by January 7. Areas <br /> will be picked pin the following order: <br /> • Dece ber 6-10 -central Eugene and River Road area (between the Willamette River and 18th <br /> Avenue from G rfield Street to Agate Street, and south of Maxwell on the west side of River Road and <br /> south of Divisi non the east side of River Road) <br /> • Dece ber 13-17 -southeast Eugene (east of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue) <br /> • Dece ber 21-24 -southwest Eugene (west of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue) <br /> • Dece ber 27-31 -west Eugene (north of 18th Avenue and west of Garfield Street, including <br /> Bethel/Danebo, and in the Churchill area west of Bertelsen Road) <br /> • Janua 3-7 -north Eugene (including Silver Lane and Sterling Drive). <br /> Reside is can assist the City by recycling leaves whenever possible. If leaves are put out for <br /> collection, they shouldn't be piled in the street until the weekend before the scheduled pickup, and they <br /> shouldn't be sta ked close to or under parked cars.
