News Release 1999 Eugene Leaf Program October 2S, 1 99 Page 2 1999 Leaf Co lection Schedule The E gene Public Works Department collects leaves within the city limits and in the River Road ar a, following a schedule that ensures systematic coverage of the city and controls the cost of the program. If ice or snow delays leaf removal, crews will resume leaf pickup in the same area wh n conditions permit, and the schedule will be adjusted accordingly. There are five collection are sin the city, and generally each area is scheduled for two collections (streets without curbs and gutters normally are picked up only during the second half of the schedule, and major arterial with bike lanes are picked up weekly). •Cent al Eugene (between the Willamette River and 18th Avenue from Garfield Street to Agate Stre t, and in the River Road area south of Maxwell on the west side of River Road and south of Divi ion on the east side of River Road) will be picked up November 1 through November S. Crews will return for the second pickup December 6 through December 10. • Sou heast Eugene (east of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue) will be picked up Novembe 8 through November 12 and December 13 through December 17. •Sou hwest Eugene (west of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue) will be picked up Novembe 1 S through November 19 and December 20 through December 24. •Wes Eugene (north of 18th Avenue and west of Garfield Street, including Bethel/Dane o, and in the Churchill area west of Bertelsen Road) will be picked up November 2 through November 24 and December 27 through December 31. •Wil akenzie and north Eugene (including Silver Lane and Sterling Drive) is scheduled for leaf colle tion November 29 through December 3 and January 3 through January 7.
