<br /> News Release 1999 Eugene Leaf Program <br /> October 2S, 1 99 <br /> Page 2 <br /> 1999 Leaf Co lection Schedule <br /> The E gene Public Works Department collects leaves within the city limits and in the <br /> River Road ar a, following a schedule that ensures systematic coverage of the city and controls <br /> the cost of the program. If ice or snow delays leaf removal, crews will resume leaf pickup in the <br /> same area wh n conditions permit, and the schedule will be adjusted accordingly. There are five <br /> collection are sin the city, and generally each area is scheduled for two collections (streets <br /> without curbs and gutters normally are picked up only during the second half of the schedule, and <br /> major arterial with bike lanes are picked up weekly). <br /> •Cent al Eugene (between the Willamette River and 18th Avenue from Garfield Street <br /> to Agate Stre t, and in the River Road area south of Maxwell on the west side of River Road and <br /> south of Divi ion on the east side of River Road) will be picked up November 1 through <br /> November S. Crews will return for the second pickup December 6 through December 10. <br /> • Sou heast Eugene (east of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue) will be picked <br /> up Novembe 8 through November 12 and December 13 through December 17. <br /> •Sou hwest Eugene (west of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue) will be picked <br /> up Novembe 1 S through November 19 and December 20 through December 24. <br /> •Wes Eugene (north of 18th Avenue and west of Garfield Street, including <br /> Bethel/Dane o, and in the Churchill area west of Bertelsen Road) will be picked up <br /> November 2 through November 24 and December 27 through December 31. <br /> •Wil akenzie and north Eugene (including Silver Lane and Sterling Drive) is scheduled <br /> for leaf colle tion November 29 through December 3 and January 3 through January 7. <br /> (more) <br /> <br />
