Leaf piles at various
city parks are City composting stockpiles and are not places where people can dump leaves.
City c ews can't collect scattered leaves or leaf piles that are stacked under or close to
parked cars. ebris such as branches, rocks, metal, and lawn clippings will not be collected, and
leaf piles con aining such debris also will not be picked up because the City cannot deliver them
to people wh want leaves for mulch. Residents should pile leaves in the street the weekend
before the sc eduled pickup to ensure leaves are picked up during the scheduled collection times.
After the last cheduled pickup in each area, property owners are responsible for removing any
leaves left in ront of their homes.
Here e some additional tips for placing leaves safely in the street:
• Pile eaves on the street surface near the gutter, keeping gutters and catch basins clear.
•Win row the leaves so they do not obstruct the flow of water along the curb.
•On s eets without curbs and gutters, pile leaves near the street, away from ditches.
•Stac leaves so they don't block bike and traffic lanes or create hazardous situations for
bicyclists an motorists.
•If th re is no alternative but to place leaves in bike lanes, keep at least half the lane's
width open f r bicycles.
•Kee sidewalks free of leaves, which are slippery when wet and hazardous for
pedestrians.

II
