You're encouraged to do the same by recycling leaves at home as mulch or compost
material. Another option is to share excess leaves with neighbors. Or, take leaves to a
ommercial rec~cler who accepts yard debris for a nominal charge, or contact your local waste
auler about cu~bside yard debris pickup service.
i
If you d~ decide to place your leaves in the street, wait until the weekend before
I
ollection in yo~r neighborhood, because even property piled leaves can cause local flooding and
i
ollute waterwa~s. Keep leaf piles free of woody waste and other debris, and be sure leaves
on't block bike or traffic lanes and are well away from storm drains.
Current ollection schedules and tips for recycling and piling leaves are available on the
ity of Eugene leaf hotline at 682-5383, or on the City's home page, www.ci.eugene.or.us.
I!,

Public Works • Administration • City of Eugene. 858 Pearl • Eugene, OR 97401-2727 • Phone: (541) 682-5262 • FAX (541) 682-6826
